Introducing St Mary's new 5-day musical theatre camp

Step into the spotlight and unleash your inner performer at our action-packed 5-day musical theatre camp! Whether you dream of Broadway, the West End, or just want to have fun, build confidence, and make new friends, this camp is for you.

Each day from 9 AM to 2 PM, you’ll train like a pro—learning singing, dancing, and acting while working on iconic songs from hit musicals.

✅ High-energy warm-ups, drama games, and creative exercises to get you moving and performing.
✅ Learn 4-5 show-stopping musical numbers from classics and modern hits.
✅ Work with industry professionals who will help bring out your best.
✅ Build friendships, confidence, and teamwork in a fun, supportive environment.
✅ End the week with a parent showcase or a music video to take home!

No experience? No problem! This camp is designed for all levels, so whether you’re a total beginner or already have stage experience, you’ll be challenged and inspired.

👉 Breaks and lunch will be scheduled daily to keep energy levels high and ensure everyone stays refreshed!

Tailored to Suit Every Performer

 

  • The final performance format—a parent showcase or a filmed music video—will be based on age group and resources.

  • Song choices will be adapted to best suit the campers (e.g., Disney favorites for younger performers, well-known musicals for older participants).

  • The schedule is crafted to encourage creativity, teamwork, and individual growth while ensuring an unforgettable experience.

 

Camp Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Musical Theatre!

  • 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM | Welcome & Ice Breakers

    • Meet your fellow performers and get introduced to the exciting world of musical theatre through fun drama games and team-building activities.

  • 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM | Vocal Warm-ups & Breathing Exercises

    • Learn essential vocal techniques to improve projection and control.

  • 10:40 AM – 11:30 AM | Song #1: "Nothing But a Good Time" (Rock of Ages)

    • A lively, high-energy introduction to musical theatre jazz numbers.

  • 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM | Dance Rehearsal

    • Work on simple yet dynamic choreography to match the energy of the song.

  • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Song #2: "When I Grow Up" (Matilda the Musical)

    • Focus on harmony, expression, and storytelling through song.

 

Day 2: Character Building & Acting Through Song

  • 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM | Warm-up & Acting Exercises

    • Dive into character development and emotional expression.

  • 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM | Recap & Refinement

    • Strengthen vocal delivery and emotional connection to songs.

  • 10:10 AM – 11:30 AM | "When I Grow Up" – Acting & Harmonies

    • Assign solos and explore the deeper meaning of the lyrics.

  • 11:40 AM – 12:30 PM | Dance Rehearsal: "We’re All in This Together" (High School Musical)

    • Start with dance to help internalize the rhythm before learning the vocals.

  • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Full Rehearsal of "We’re All in This Together"

    • Combine singing, dancing, and acting for a complete musical theatre experience.

 

Day 3: Ensemble Work & Spotlight on Dance

  • 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM | Dance Warm-up & Technique

    • Cardio and flexibility work, plus essential dance skills.

  • 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM | Finish "We’re All in This Together"

    • Perfecting the ensemble piece and refining movement.

  • 10:40 AM – 11:30 AM | Contemporary Dance Routine: "For Good" (Wicked)

    • Learn how different dance styles enhance storytelling.

  • 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM | Full Review & Ensemble Run-through

    • Strengthening group dynamics and stage presence.

  • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Song #4: "Tomorrow" (Annie)

    • Focus on vocal clarity, expression, and audition techniques.

 

Day 4: Final Rehearsals & Blocking

  • 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM | Warm-up & Review

    • Quick recap of all songs and dances learned so far.

  • 9:30 AM – 10:10 AM | Audition & Ensemble Vocals

    • Assign final solos and refine harmonies.

  • 10:10 AM – 12:00 PM | Blocking Practice

    • Run-through of full numbers with movement and transitions.

  • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Full Performance Run-through

    • Perform with costumes (if available), incorporating final notes for polish.

 

Day 5: Showtime! A Beginners Call

  • 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM | Warm-up & Stage Presence Review

    • Confidence-boosting exercises to prepare for the big moment.

  • 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM | Final Rehearsal & Dress Run

    • Running the full performance with costumes.

  • 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM | Last-minute Polishing

    • Perfecting transitions and fine-tuning the final showcase.

  • 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM | FINAL PERFORMANCE!
